Had to look up "Muruzabal," and determined that it's a place name from a dialect word whose translation into English is surprisingly close to the phonetics of the dialect word itself. Means "Me raise the ball"--as in, I flush the toilet.
Tom: My research, exhaustively extracted from a drunk in an alley, shows that the name Muruzabal dates back only to the 1980's when this small Spanish community was the world leader in supplying disco balls to the U.S.
Also, you asked:
Retired editor that I am, I go right to the ellipsis. (This means: the thing that's missing.) ". . . our main course, Stuffed from Navarro . . ." with whatever the stuffed thing is, going unnamed.
Tom: The name came directly from the menu. When questioned, the waiter said simply that it was a locally prepared secret recipe, and would not divulge the ellipsis...
Bobbi: Earlier I thought you could come out of retirement and take your sales team on a Regal team building Camino!

Seriously Jerry? At this point in my life, I consider it a trek just walking to the mailbox! I shall live vicariously through you when it comes to treks/pilgrimages.

ReplyDeleteBack to your blog at long last. My "patient", your aunt Judy, is napping. I've got 20 minutes or so before I wake her up and return to abusing her. She's progressing, and says "hi" to you.
