I had lots of pictures (art was everywhere) and it plugged the slow speed lane on the cyber highway. So I'm making a seepage entry to see if this helps.
Seepage? I don't even know what that was supposed to say! (Spell check altered my thought)
Bonus materials:
Art work was everywhere today:
Another coin smusher! I'm sure I will see others, and now that I know (remember) that Lisa collects these, maybe I'll try to figure out how it works.
This is actually an art museum/studio, or so it said. Among the "works" exhibited were a photograph of the Beatles and a book about Steve McQueen.
Mrs. Frog?
Drinking water from a fern!
More trail philosophy
These were all part of one long mural that greets you as you enter the historic district of Sarria:
This one was funny. As I walked up to take a picture, two German (?) men told me they wanted me to pose by this so they could take a picture. I thought they were simply pointing it out to me, but they were persistent and wouldn't let me past until I posed. When I stood by it, several others stopped and took a picture, as if they thought I was a celebrity!
(Note: I later looked for Zapatones 1954-2015 and found this mural to be a street artist paying homage to a Camino celebrity. This man would hang around the Basilica in Santiago in costume and pose with people when they walked into the Praza de Obradoiro)

I think my red poncho makes me look thinner!
The steps to the historic district remind me of San Francisco
another multi-panel mural, this one much older
I was walking around looking for my hotel (Google couldn't find it), when I saw this guy down a side street. Turned out he sat right in front of the hotel!

you did it this time....you broke the Internet! =] I will re-visit this post when the pictures have a chance to load.
ReplyDeletePoop! No pictures yet. I do hope they show up.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures! Did you tell us when all of this was done? I love the murals. You do look like the traveler. I wonder what the people that took the picture will say about. You will go down in history.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pics and interesting notations. How does it feel to be such a celebrity? You do sort of resemble the man in the mural (beard) maybe they thought you were him!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, love the murals. And also love the garden statue of Alicia with her little watering can.
